Descendants of Thomas Heard
1706 -1776 of Broxted Essex
Thomas Heard married in Good Easter, his wife was from Gt. Canfield,
and died in Broxted. His son Thomas Heard was the Wheelwright in
Henham, he also owned land in nearby Takeley and Broxted.
His grandson Charles Heard, my ancestor, was the Wheelwright in Mole
Hill Green. After Charles died in 1836 his widow Mary and then his son
William continued as Wheelwright.
Charles' grandson, George, my gt grandfather, worked on the railways in
Cambridgeshire and Essex.
Another of Thomas' grandsons, Daniel Heard was a farmer in Wimbish and
his youngest grandson, Joseph Bacon Heard continued as the Wheelwright
in Henham. After Joseph's death in 1840 his nephew Thomas became the
Henham wheelwright passing the business to his son Walter, another son
Frank became the Wheelwright and Postmaster in Girton Cambs.
